The chords are often numerous, which can be an obstacle for beginners who only want one thing: to know where to start. In this jungle of chords, there are eleven (11) essential chords for beginners, which we are going to introduce to you. The following chords will be located between the first and the fifth fret, delimited by the vertical bars.

The 11 essential chords for beginners

During this learning, you will position the chords directly on the neck of your ukulele in order to locate them more easily. To do this, lay the ukulele on your lap with your head to the left. To begin, check the tuning of your instrument. The following 11 chords are listed in order of difficulty, from easiest to hardest to play.

1-     C MAJOR

To play this chord, you must place your ring finger on the third fret at the level of the 1re rope.

2-     A MINOR

To play this chord, you must place your middle finger on the 2nd fret on the 4th string.

3-     F MAJOR

To play the F MAJOR, you must place your index finger on the 1re fret at the 2nd string and your middle finger at the 2nd fret at the 4th string.

4-     G MAJOR

To play this chord, you must place your index finger at the 2nd fret on the 3rd string, put your ring finger on the 3rd fret at the 2nd string, and your middle finger on the 2nd fret at the 1st.re rope.

5-     A MAJOR

To play the A MAJOR chord, you must place your index finger on the 1re 3rd string fret, and your middle finger on the 2nd fret at the 4th string.

6-     E MINOR

To play this chord, you must put your index finger at the 2nd fret on the 1re string and your ring finger at the 4th fret on the 3rd string.

7-     D MINOR

To play this chord, you must put your index finger at 1re fret on the 2nd string, your middle finger on the 2nd fret on the 4th string, and your ring finger still on the 2nd fret at the 3rd string.

8-     F#/GB MINOR

To play the F#/GB MINOR chord, your index finger must be placed at 1re fret on the 3rd string, your middle finger at the 2nd fret on the 4th string, and your ring finger at the 2nd fret on the 2nd string.

9-     D MAJOR

To play the D MAJOR chord, your index finger is said to be placed at the 2nd fret on the 4th string, with your middle finger at the 2nd fret on the 3rd string, and your ring finger at the 2nd fret at the 2nd string.

NB: for those who have big fingers, it is easier to place your middle finger at the 2nd fret on the 4th string with your ring finger at the 2nd fret on the 3rd string and your little finger at the 2nd fret at the level of the 2nd string .

10 E MAJOR

To play this chord, put your index finger at 1re 4th string fret, your middle finger at 2nd fret 1re string and your little finger at the 4th fret on the 3rd string.

11 B MINOR

The B MINOR is played by placing your index finger in barre at the 2nd fret at the level of the 1re, 2nd and 3rd string, and your ring finger at the 4th fret on the 4th string.
